Tall Tales Fishing Derby at Lake Whittaker

St. Thomas – Try your luck at Lake Whittaker this weekend at the Tall Tales Fishing Derby. Some of the best smallmouth bass fishing in Middlesex County can be found at Lake Whittaker Conservation Area. This annual event is planned for Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Lake Whittaker Conservation Area.

As part of The Family Fishing weekend, participants can fish without an Ontario Fishing Licence for an assortment of prizes. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd longest fish in each age category, plus additional prizes.

The fun starts at 7 a.m., so bring your family and friends out to catch the next “lunker”.

Visitor Services Coordinator will be conducting a fish survey of all species caught.

• Although no licence is required, anglers must follow the Ontario Recreational Fishing Regulations.
• Visitors to KCCA conservation areas must pay regular admission fees.
• Participants are encouraged to bring fishing equipment (4 Tackle Share rods and tackle can be borrowed out for the day), life jackets, sunscreen and a sense of adventure.
