Seedling Program

2021 Seedling Program – Seedlings are preordered and stock is limited.  Order now to avoid disappointment.

Seedling Order Form

Tree seedlings are available to landowners within the Kettle Creek watershed for $0.25/seedling.  There is a minimum order of 200 seedlings and orders over 500 seedlings also include planting by KCCA staff and one application of herbicide.

Ideal sites may include block plantings, planting marginal farmland, windbreaks, shelterbelts and riparian buffers.

Place your order early for Spring as stock is limited and assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Sites Planted by Landowners

KCCA staff provide technical tree planting advice, order the trees and arrange for shipment to our cold storage facility.  Landowners are responsible for picking up their trees from the KCCA office on the Seedling Pickup Days and planting their seedlings.

Customers will be invoiced for their order in the Spring. Payments will be accepted prior to picking up your order at the cold storage facility at KCCA’s Administration Centre.

Sites Planted by KCCA

KCCA staff visit each site, prepare a planting plan, plant seedlings (by hand or machine) and apply one application of herbicide.

There is a minimum of 500 seedlings. Landowners must prepare the area prior to planting to provide a level, obstruction and/or vegetation free site. Trees are not to be cut, harvested or otherwise removed from the planting area for a minimum of 15 years.

Interested in Smaller Quantities of Trees?

Landowners in Central Elgin, Southwold, Malahide and St. Thomas can also access the Greening Communities program which provides smaller quantities of trees.
