Kettle Creek Conservation Authority

Dodd Creek
Floodplain Mapping

About the Project

In February 2023, Aquafor Beech Limited was retained by Kettle Creek Conservation Authority (KCCA) to update the regulatory floodplain mapping for key reaches along Dodd Creek and its tributaries, through detailed hydrologic and hydraulic modelling utilizing the most accurate and up-to-date data available. Funding for the project was provided in part by the Flood Hazard Identification and Mapping Program (FHIMP).

The project study area lies almost entirely within the Dodd Creek subwatershed which includes portions of the Township of Southwold, the Municipality of Central Elgin, and the Cities of St. Thomas and London. Of particular interest are the residential communities of Talbotville and Lynhurst.

An important part of this process is informing the community of the updates, particularly those who live within the study area.
