St. Thomas – Kettle Creek Conservation Authority is adding Snapchat to its social media platform at the Elgin St. Thomas Children’s Water Festival on May 15th, 2017.
“Snapchat is a platform that appeals to younger audiences and is just a fun way to share pictures,” says Luiza Moczarski, KCCA’s public relations supervisor. “Our goal is to ensure our conservation message reaches the widest possible audience.”
KCCA is offering a special geofilter for the Elgin St. Thomas Children’s Water Festival and will be posting a snapchat story of the event to be held at Pinafore Park in St. Thomas from May 15th to the 19th. Volunteers and students can snap their favorite moment at the Festival and share it on SnapChat using the special geofilter.
“We hope Snapchat will continue to tell the story about our great watershed,” says Moczarski. “We will be adding additional geofilters for other major events in our campgrounds this summer – so stay tuned for more fun.”
KCCA encourages sharing local nature experiences with the hash tag #lovemywatershed, or #waterfestival when sharing pictures of the Elgin Children’s Water Festival.
Snapchat is part of KCCA’s comprehensive social media platform which includes, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook each with the handle @KettleCreekCA.
