Wed 13 Jun 2012 01:46:07 PM EDT Applications are being accepted until July 6, 2012 to fill a vacancy for a public interest (general public) representative on the Lake Erie Region Source Protection Committee.The 25-member committee is overseeing development of source protection plans for municipal water supplies in four watersheds: Grand River, Long Point Region, Catfish Creek and Kettle Creek. The plans will be submitted to the Ministry of Environment for approval. The work is being done under the Ontario Clean Water Act 2006. The vacant seat is one of six for members of the general public. The term will begin in August and last about two years. Other members of the committee represent municipalities, farmers, businesses, industries and First Nations.
